This set of hand puppets depict the main characters of the story of Divali. The five puppets in the pack are Rama, his wife Sita, his brother Lakshman, his friend Hanuman the monkey general and his enemy the demon Ravana with ten heads. Included in the pack are accessories such as a golden deer, Rama's slippers and his ring and a laminated story.
These puppets can also be used to tell other stories from the Ramayana. Colours and designs shown are representative only as a wide variety of fabrics are used.
Made by marginalised young women in India who are given training in tailoring and life skills followed by fairly paid employment.
